Miracle of Miracles!!

Tuesday - April 21

The boy is 2 weeks old today... and to celebrate, he went home! I still can't
believe it!

About 5:00 this evening they drove up to their house with their baby boy...just like they thought it would have been about 12 days ago. What a happy day! Kennedy and Matthew finally were believing there WAS a baby Joshua (they have never really seen him other than a few minutes that first day)...and that just maybe he WOULD come live at their home!

It was a pretty quiet occasion for the first little while when he made it into his home. His big brother and sister checked him out, and then held him for the first time. He stretched and moaned and squeaked like newborns do...which the older kids took to mean "he's tired", "he's hungry", "he wants in his swing", and "he wants me!" There were many instructions called out as to what to do for him, especially by Kennedy, who within minutes had taken on the roll of #2 mother and I am sure she will be instructing her parents AND her 2 little brothers on many things over the next several years! It was a memorable place to be. I couldn't stop watching them interact.

Joshua came home at a whopping 6 lbs. 15 oz. ... 3 oz. bigger than he was at birth! Not bad for what he has been through! His newborn clothes are huge, but he wont need preemies like the other kids. He is doing amazingly well, and is extremely beautiful. What a story we will have to tell him some day! What a road he traveled in his first hours, days, and weeks of life! We will someday share with him the love and prayers, and fasts, and worries so many people had for him. He truly is a special baby boy. And as I have said before, he must have a remarkable life in front of him!

I will update for a while if everyone still wants me to. But I just want to say thank you to all who read and comment on this blog. Jen, thanks for making me do it...I never thought I would blog...but it has been a blessing to many. I love you all. Thanks again. Until a few more days pass, Kim (Mimi)
