See that red line? Kris has had pain in his leg for a little over a week now and went to an urgent care last Tuesday to have it checked out thinking it was possibly a blood clot (at the time, the red line was only three to four inches long). They did not have the necessary equipment to check for that so they marked the red area, told him to watch it and go to the ER if it got any bigger, and sent him home. On Wednesday, he went to the ER because it had spread some. They did an ultrasound, but found nothing. It continued to get worse and by Friday, it had spread up his leg to about mid-thigh (now about twelve inches long). So he went to a different ER. They believed it was a blood clot, but did not have an ultrasound tech available at that time to check it (it was late at night), so they sent him home and asked him to come back the next morning. He did, and he does, indeed, have a blood clot! It is a little more than a foot long, but is only in a surface vein (that's good!) and not a deeper, more dangerous vein. Later that evening, at Joshua's blessing BBQ, I suddenly got the chills that quickly increased until apparently I was quite pale and my lips were blue. I got really light-headed and fuzzy. My sweet husband got me inside and everyone lent me their extra blankets (thank you!) where I was able to warm up a bit. Don't really know how long we were in there or what was happening outside, but I was miserable! Thankfully, my sister-in-law, Jenny, recognized the symptoms as Mastitis! Ugh! I do NOT recommend it. I have not felt so horrible in so short a time in my life! What a nasty bug! We called my doctor's office to call me in a perscription, my parents took the two kids, and Joshua and his invalid parents went home to rest. Thankfully, I was well enough that we could still bless Joshua as planned. And it was a beautiful blessing! Thanks to everyone who came (many making the trip twice)! We sure appreciate all your love and support! Hopefully, this week will bring a bit less drama!
