On friday night, our family went to Lone Rock (about 50 miles west of us, near Dugway) to have dinner with some families from our ward who were camping there. There was a threat of rain and we had decided that staying overnight with the three kiddos while it rained didn't sound like much fun! After dinner, we were cleaning up and getting ready to leave. Just a few minutes before we were ready to go, Matthew tripped and fell. Several kids had fallen while we were there, so I originally didn't think much of it--thought he had just scraped his head a bit. Then I noticed it was actually running blood, so I walked over to the car where I could see it better in the light. Sure enough, there was a gash (about a half and inch long and quite deep) in his forehead above his right eye. I asked a friend there (who had had some nursing training) if she thought we needed stitches--thank you, Becky! She agreed that he probably did, so we headed off to the hospital in Tooele. They were wonderful! We were in and out in just over an hour, Matthew was treated so well and got a new teddy bear (sporting a cute t-shirt with the hospitals name on it!) and a coloring book and crayons. They were able to numb him with a gel and then clean the gash out and "superglue" it shut! No needles or trauma at any time! Yay! *Thank you, Dermabond! You made our lives so much better!* He is doing great! He'll have a little scar, but he walked away from the experience almost happy about it all! Here are a few pictures of the event (sorry, didn't get any before we got to the hospital, I guess I was a bit more concerned about stopping the bleeding, calming him down and getting him stitched up!)

Poor kid! I hope he feels better soon. That bump on his head looks nasty.
