Small Glimmers of Hope!

SATURDAY , April 11th, 2009
However small...we are seeing glimmers of hope that Joshua will make it out of this! It is a fabulous feeling!!
He is more alert and active today as they are trying not to sedate him quite as much. He is tolerating his feedings and getting those vital nutrients from mommy's milk. His oxygen levels are FINALLY doing good - -and while I was visiting, the nurse began a small decline of oxygen from the C-pap!! Hallelujah! They also weighed him...and he gained 2 oz. - go Joshua!!
I watched as he was getting a bit agitated today. His respiration's rise and his oxygen saturation levels decrease immediately. But for the first time...I watched his mom talk softly to him and rub his leg gently and within seconds he calmed. It was a wonderful thing! He is responding!! All his levels went back to where they were suppose to be. I love small miracles. I know there will be more.

  3. Jen did a nice job on the blog set up. Kim, good job on the updates. However, the best job is what Kris and Rachael produced! What a sweet little boy, and I hear from mimi he is quite a fighter! You are all in our fasts, thoughts, and prayers.

  4. I had no idea that you had a sick little grandson. I'm so sorry for you and for Rachael. There is nothing worse than a sick little one (unfortunately, you know that ALL too well). Our family will be praying for Joshua. Please let me know if there is anything that we can do for your little family. I'm sure you have your hands full with her other two.
